Lisa Leskien is an artist on the loose. Always on the move, Lisa enjoys running and cycling on the trails near her hometown in Sydenham, Ontario. She uses the inspiration from the beautiful scenes she moves through to create vibrant acrylic and oil paintings, and linocut prints, which depict her colourful enthusiasm for the world around her. Lisa likes to use her “Artist on the Loose” experience to take part in long trail running races and paint while taking part in the event! Lisa can also be found on the go, teaching painting, printmaking and crochet at the Kingston School of Art and at the Hive Art Collective in Bath, Ontario.
Lisa has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from York University and a Bachelor of Education from Brock University. She taught elementary students as a classroom teacher for 16 years before deciding to pursue her dream of being an artist. After moving north of Kingston in 2021, Lisa was able to devote more time to creating, and teaching art in the Kingston community. She looks forward to creating art that highlights the vibrant beauty of the rugged places that she explores near her home, and to show others through exhibiting her work, and to share her skills by continuing to teach art in the community.
